Japan House

I have recently been working on some promo images to help set up my rendering business and website. For this one, i basically imitated some photoscans i had lying around of this house in Japan. I'm not exactly sure of the architect who designed this residence, or exactly where it is, and if anyone out there knows, id be interested to know. The main point of this exercise was to expand my skills with 3d and rendering by closely matching light settings from an existing image.The model was constructed using microstation and 3ds max 8, then rendered using max and vray. Each image took roughly 3hrs to render at 2000px wide.

yeah very nice work, very clean, nice lighting, good contrast and composition. Great stuff

Floating staircase? cool

Only thing I can see is the black square at the bottom of the stairs looks a little too black, and the sofa. Not worth changing for that though.

You use Vray camera and sun??

This work is amazing. Is there any place where I could look at the first image in a higher resolution ? Very inspiring work. What's the name of the architect ?

That will be my first DD suggestion ;) Hopefully accepted.
